TNJ AFRICA 40 UNDER FORTY AWARDS

Launched in November 2010, the Africa edition of The Network Journal's annual “40 Under  Forty  Achievement Awards” recognizes and honors Africa’s next generation of business and professional leaders – men and women under the age of forty who are excelling in their chosen industry sectors, and who are committed to the social and economic development of the continent. The intention of this program is to showcase positive images of Africa while recognizing and rewarding the entrepreneurial spirit and dynamism of Africa’s business and professional communities.

Like his/her U.S. counterpart, a “TNJ Africa 40 Under Forty” honoree typically is a business owner, or a management executive with significant decision-making authority in the corporate, nonprofit (including academia and medicine), or government sector. A committee of judges reviews each year’s candidates through their application form and supporting material. The judges make their final selection based on the nominees’ career/entrepreneurial accomplishments, level of professional expertise and community and/or charitable involvement.

Each honoree receives a specially designed crystal award at the “40 Under Forty Achievement Awards” fun-filled gala celebrating the new recipients. This celebration is usually held at prestigious hotel in Africa and is attended by several hundred business leaders, colleagues and well wishers. All of the year’s awardees are featured in a special issue of The Network Journal magazine, which is distributed in the United States of America and throughout Africa
