The inspiring mission of a non-profit in New York called Brooklyn On
Tech is to inspire the next generation of tech leaders out of Brooklyn.
Founded by Jessica Santana and Evin Robinson, the organization offers a
yearlong program to high schoolers from Brooklyn to teach them both
programming and other professional skills.
At last month’s On Demand Conference in San Francisco which featured many of the hottest names in tech – Uber, Instacart, Sprig, Munchery, Shyp and Postmates, amongst others – one panel stood out. Amid a sea of consumer facing businesses, the CEOs of three small- and medium-sized business or enterprise focused on-demand companies explained their businesses in a talk titled “On-Demand, B2B.”
Ask the average Apple fan to make a list of the important moves the company has made in the past year or so, and the list will probably start with the Apple Watch before ticking off the huge sales of bigger iPhones and the $3 billion deal for Beats Electronics.
