The name says it all. The Network Journal has been celebrating
accomplished women of color for over 15 years. And this year’s 16th "25 Influential Black Women in Business" annual event, presented by Morgan Stanley, is no different.
At a recent gathering for Phi Beta Sigma’s Centennial Founders Day gala,
actor and civil rights activist Harry Belafonte, a new member of the
fraternity, announced his new initiative, Sankofa Justice & Equity Fund, aimed at ending oppression and
violence towards women around the world.
Alicia Keys’s business arrangement with BlackBerry is no more. In early 2013, the Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter
signed on as global creative director for the Canadian mobile technology
giant. By year’s end, it was announced that she will no longer stay on.
