Dion Fearon has a passion for entrepreneurship. Jamaican born, Baltimore
raised and L.A. based, Fearon is a self-starting, self-taught feature
film and television producer who has now been in the entertainment
business industry for the last 20 years. Now she has added a second business—a line of scented candles through the Dion Fearon Collection.
Seven years ago, Experience: Harlem was launched by Angie Hancock as an
information and entertainment portal for all things Harlem. Today, it
has been the go-to site for anyone—from New York residents to first-time
visitors--wanting to connect and “experience” the special venues and
well kept-secrets that Harlem has to offer.
Many women over 35 often complain about being invisible in the media. Where are the magazines for them? Well, now there is a website targeting these women, with a focus on African-American women. Founded by veteran journalists Sheree Crute and Yanick Rice Lamb, the site is called FierceforBlackWomen. It was created for Black women by Black women.
