In a move that is expected to boost OWN’s long-time struggling ratings, Oprah Winfrey has joined forces with filmmaker Tyler Perry. The Los Angeles Times is reporting that the talented two have entered into an agreement whereby Perry will produce scripted series for the Oprah Winfrey Network . Up to now, his three television shows - Meet the Browns, Tyler Perry’s House of Payne and For Better or Worse - have aired on the TBS network and will continue to do so, but his upcoming projects will air and reside on OWN.
This isn’t the first collaboration between Winfrey and Perry. In 2009, they shared executive producer credit for the film, Precious.
