Whoopi Goldberg, one of America’s most multi-talented performers, is outraged at the New York Times, that revered bastion of liberal media. Goldberg’s wrath stems from an article written by the Times’ film critics criticizing the lack of racial diversity in Hollywood in general and in this year’s Oscar nominations in particular.
According to Goldberg, who voiced her opinion on her television show, “The View”, she felt insulted because the journalists failed to mention her Oscar win for the movie “Ghost” in their article. Manohla Dargis, one of the authors of the article and a long-time Times film critic, responded by criticizing Goldberg’s reading of the original article and advising her to pay attention to the lack of racial diversity in American cinema rather than perceived slights against her career.
