Jamaica, NY- October 20th, 2012 The National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc., Beta Omicron Chapter and Queens Library, will host an interactive workshop entitled “What Every New Teacher Should Know?” at the Queens Library auditorium, located at 8911 Merrick Boulevard, from 11:30am-3:00pm. This free professional development workshop is open to all college students with an interest in the field of education, recently certified teachers and the professional community. Topics for discussion include integration of the Common Core Learning Standards, avoiding teacher burnout, teacher evaluations, classroom management, the hiring process and more. New and experienced educators would share strategies used in navigating through the educational system.
