Kristen Fears, an engineer at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, planned on being an engineer since the age of 9. Now, the Detroit native was

magazine. Here, we caught up with Fears to talk about her engineering role at the company and young African American women's entrance into the STEM field.
You spend most of your day surrounded by the people you work with and
when it’s time to go home, you are ready to clock out. But what is one
to do when constantly invited out after hours by work colleagues? You
don’t want to look antisocial, but you have other things to do. There are other ways to fit in with your co-workers other than hanging out after work.
When it comes to leadership and standing at the forefront of growth,
development and change, Lt. General Russel Honore stands above most
people. A decorated military man, with the U.S. Government for more than 30
years, Honore emerged as a national hero with his Herculean leadership
and command of recovery efforts in New Orleans in 2005 during Hurricane
Katrina. This month, he was feted at a Black History Month celebration.

specializing in handcrafted custom carpets, inspired wall coverings and
artisan tiles, has been selected to serve as a mentor to underserved
women entrepreneurs in New York City through the WE Connect Mentors program.
