Just three months into the New Year, award-winning advertising veteran
Valerie Graves is off to a great start. In February, she, along with her
fellow board members at the Advertising Club of New York, rang the
opening NASDAQ bell! The former chief creative executive at UniWorld Group is even writing a memoir due out later this year. Here, we caught up with Graves to talk about her experiences in a career that spans 30 years.
Earlier this month, the Washington Press Club Foundation honored former
PBS NewsHour correspondent Charlayne Hunter-Gault with a 2015 Lifetime
Achievement Award. She received the prestigious award for her decades-long news career that focused on inequality, civil rights and economic parity in Africa.
Veteran journalist April Ryan has written a riveting new book that
chronicles her experiences as a Capitol Hill correspondent for nearly 20
years and covering the tenures of three American presidents. A correspondent for American Urban Radio Networks, Ryan will
be honored with the annual Politics Award at the African American
Chamber of Commerce's Fifth Anniversary Circle of Achievement
Awards gala next week in New Brunswick, NJ.
