On February 9, 2014, attorney Ken Thompson was sworn in as Brooklyn’s new District Attorney. He replaces Charles Hynes.
Thompson is a founding partner of the law firm Thompson Wigdor L.L.P. Established in 2003, the firm specializes in employment, criminal and entertainment law.
He is credited with playing a key role in high profile cases including the Abner Louima case of 1997 and in the 2012 case of New York vs. Strauss-Kahn. In the latter case, he represented Nafissatou Diallo, the maid who accused Strauss-Kahn of sexually assaulting her in a Manhattan hotel room in May 2011.
A 1992 graduate of New York University School of Law, Thompson was one of four brilliant attorneys featured on the February 2013 cover of The Network Journal magazine.
