The traveling exhibit features 20 portraits of past and current Americans, including Ralph Ellison, Rosa Parks, Cesar Chavez and Eleanor Roosevelt. The paintings – and the accompanying quotes – by Maine artist Robert Shetterly are intended “to remind people of the dignity, courage and importance of some of America's truth tellers and to create dialogue that will help each of us figure out which truths we value most as citizens in a democracy.” The event, which is free and open to the public, celebrates the contributions of a diverse community.
