Nathaniel R. Jones, retired U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals judge for the Sixth Circuit in Cincinnati, OH, has joined the law firm of Blank Rome Comisky & McCauley as senior counsel. A civil-rights activist, Jones teaches at the University of Cincinatti and at Harvard University.
Dr. Barbara Ross-Lee has been appointed dean of the New York Institute of Technologys Medical School (New York College of Osteopathic Medicine). Ross-Lee was the first African-American woman to head a medical school when she was appointed dean of the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1993.
James H. Lawrence will become Nassau County police commissioner when the current commissioner retires at the end of June. Lawrence, previously the New York City Police Departments chief of personnel, received a bachelors degree in economics from Fordham University.
Robert L. Mallett is senior vice president of corporate affairs for Pfizer Inc. in New York. Mallett is a former deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce. He received a bachelors degree from Morehouse College and a law degree from Harvard University.
