The 25 Influential Black Women that we salute in this issue are a voice to the Black world as a whole.

These women’s responsibilities go beyond the region from which they have been selected because, as they have demonstrated, they touch others wherever they are, inspiring and igniting dreams.

We salute them as our leaders, our mothers, our daughters and our friends, even as we know that the economic battle is not over, and that they will not settle for second best.

These women know their strengths and their weaknesses, and that as they grow their careers and businesses, their perspectives will expand, their expertise will sharpen and their abilities will increase.

These are glorious days in which we live when Black women can be honored for their work, and for walking the path they choose.
The women display a richness beyond money; they are gifted and talented people now realizing their dreams because of their sharp visions, their strengths, their kindness and their winning nature.

Through persistence, sometimes in the face of trials, they have taught us that character, integrity and positive thinking are paramount for success.
