Vickie Burns
Vickie Burns was named vice president of News and Content for WNBC. Burns joins WNBC from WRC-TV, the NBC-owned station in Washington, D.C., where she served as vice president of news. Prior to joining WRC, Burns worked at an NBC-owned station, WMAQ-TV, in Chicago. She also worked as an executive producer with the ABC-owned station in Chicago, WLS-TV. She began her career at a CBS-owned station, WBBM -TV, in Chicago, where she spent five years as a desk assistant, news writer and producer. Burns is an Emmy Award-winning producer and an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists. She earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcasting at Loyola University in Chicago.
Darryl L. Dye
Darryl L. Dye was named digital account director for essence.com by Essence Communications Inc. He previously was account di-rector at AOL Black Voices, bringing in new business from such blue-chip advertisers as the Big Three auto companies, Nissan, Toyota, GlaxoSmithKline, Johnson & Johnson, McDonald’s and Procter & Gamble Co. Prior to that, he was a senior account executive at Ebony magazine, where he established the automotive category, and advertising director for The Network Journal, where he launched the Entrepreneur’s Resource Guide in collaboration with the U.S. Small Business Admin-istration. Dye graduated from The Fashion Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in fashion merchandise management.
Ron Taylor
Ron Taylor is the new director of firmwide Recruiting Operations and Diversity at Eisner L.L.P. in New York City. Prior to this position, Taylor worked at KPMG L.L.P., where he developed and implemented recruiting strategies for diverse candidates, and was a member of the KPMG New York Office Diversity Council. He earned a bachelor’s in management at the University of Mass-achusetts, where he was the recipient of a Charles J. Hoff Leadership Scholarship for community involvement. He is a certified public accountant in the state of Mass-achusetts and a member of the Massachusetts and New York State Societies of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He also is a lifetime member of the National Association of Black Accountants.
