Rhapsody in Black

Dear Editor,
I just finished reading your March issue cover to cover, it was THAT good!
Love, love the Editor’s Note, “Rhapsody in Black”! It reminded me of dropping out of an anthropology class because the white professor said Blacks are descendants of monkeys. And thank goodness you cleared up (hopefully) the “Obama is not Black enough” nonsense! But Bill Clinton was “the first Black president.”
Yeah, right!
Love the feature on PR/Advertis-ing/Marketing. “If clients don’t force the issue (of diversity) it simply will not happen.” This was the case with law firms. Their clients threatened to pull their business unless those firms hired more minority associates, and then promote them to partner.

Best Black Doctors

Dear Editor,
I just wanted to take a moment to let you know how much I enjoy reading your magazine. I had recently completed reading the February 2007 issue, which includes the annual Best Black Doctors feature. One of my sorority sisters just completed medical school, so I forwarded her a link from your Web site to the cover story, but also advised her to pick up a copy so she could read the other stories. She told me that she found the cover story very inspiring and thought she might like to get a subscription. I told her that I had started by getting a complementary copy several years ago, but that I had enjoyed it so much I decided to subscribe. I like the magazine’s local focus and find the articles very straightforward and easy to read.

Dear Editor,
While visiting my specialist this afternoon, he asked why I did not have a Black urologist. My response was that I did not know of any, or of anyone in my circle currently using one. He mentioned that your publication has printed a listing of New York’s best Black doctors and I wanted to acquire that listing. I am not a TNJ subscriber but will be subscribing today. Thanks for your assistance.
