Joy V. Cunningham
Joy V. Cunningham is the first African-American female president of the Chicago Bar Association. Cunningham is senior vice president and general counsel for Northwestern Memorial HealthCare and Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Prior to joining Northwestern, Cunningham served as a judge of the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals, Cook County, Ill. She received a bachelor of science from the City University in New York, and a law degree from John Marshall Law School in Chicago.
Janet Marzett
Janet Marzett was named vice president of human resources and administrative services for DaimlerChrysler Services. Marzett will be responsible for employee relations, employment, compensation and benefits, career marketing, personnel development and training, diversity and inclusion, organization planning and facilities services in the United States, Canada and Mexico. She will also direct the human resources¹ strategy for the company¹s 5,500 employees.
Larry D. Thompson
Larry D. Thompson is the new senior vice president and general counsel for Pepsico Inc. Thompson will be responsible for PepsiCo¹s worldwide legal foundation, as well as its government affairs organization and the company's charitable foundation. Thompson, a former U.S. deputy attorney general, was recently a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C. He is on the board of directors of Delta Air Lines.
Heyward B. Davenport
New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg appointed Heyward B. Davenport chairperson of the newly formed New York City M/WBE Advisory Board. Davenport is the Northeast Regional Director of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency, serving 14 northeastern states from Maine to West Virginia.
Reggie Davis
Reggie Davis, Wachovia’s CEO for the Atlantic region, was promoted to Northern Banking Group executive. Davis now is responsible for General Bank operations in North and South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Connecticut. Davis chairs the New Jersey Network Foundation and is on the board of The Newark Alliance, the New
Jersey State Chamber, Prosperity New Jersey and Teach for America.
Reginald V. Grayson
Reginald V. Grayson left his post as assistant commissioner of economic and financial opportunity at the New York City Department of Small Business Services to launch his own business. Grayson is credited with eliminating the agency’s backlog of certification for minority business enterprises. He holds a B.S. in urban planning from Alabama A & M University, an M.Sc. in real estate development and investment from New York University and an M.B.A. in finance from the Stern School of Business, also at N.Y.U. Grayson launched Grayson Bakula Design, an event design and production firm targeting the high-end corporate, gala and fund-raising markets.
Norman Jenkins
The National Association of Black Accountants appointed Norman Jenkins national president and CEO. Jenkins, a vice president at Marriott International, joined NABA while attending Howard University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting. Jenkins began his professional career at McDonald’s Corp., where he held management positions in finance and operations. Prior to his most recent appointment, Jenkins was vice president, global operations, and CFO of Marriott’s Ramada International division. Jenkins also holds an M.B.A. from George Washington University and is a certified public accountant.
Kevin Liles
Kevin Liles joined Warner Music Group as executive vice president. Liles brings to W.M.G. 15 years of experience in the urban and rock music genres, as well as skills in marketing and brand extension. Prior to his appointment, Liles served as president and CEO of Def Jam Records and executive vice president of parent company Island Def Jam Music Group. During his tenure as president, from 1998 to 2002, Def Jam’s revenues doubled to $400 million. Liles also oversaw the development and creation of the brands Def Jam South, Def Soul, Def Soul Classics, Roc-A-Fella and Murder Inc.
