Letters to the Editor - July/August 2004
Dear Editor:
Thank you for providing the New York Regional Chapter of the National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) the opportunity to share its recipe for “How to Succeed in Health-Care Management” [February 2004]. I hope that there will be other opportunities to talk about health-care issues in your publication. We are truly excited about your receiving our chapter’s Journalism Award. The honor is well deserved.
Kamille E. Wright, President
NAHSE-New York Regional Chapter
Dear Editor:
I was recently informed that Kevin Carr was to be recognized by The Network Journal for his many achievements and I would like to say that I am one of these achievements. In the late 1990s he was my mentor in the nationally known group Inroads. I was 16 at the time that our college tour around Florida began with the Inroads program. When we returned from the tour, Mr. Carr asked me what I wanted to major in and I responded, “Film production at Florida State University.” At the time the Inroads program did not support my field, but Mr. Carr helped me achieve my goal of attending Florida State University Film School and successfully completing the course in 2001. I have produced a short film that has been well received and I am now director of audio-visual at an international company. For the last five years I have been wondering how to get in touch with Mr. Carr just to say “thank you” to him. He deserves this recognition. He has impacted my life and I can only say, “Thank you.” I hope he remembers me.
Austin Mitchell
