Dear Editor:
As someone who works in the cable television industry, I would like to see more stories about this field. I believe there are plenty of opportunities to give the readers interesting stories. Overall, however, I am excited about The Network Journal. At the time that I received my February issue I was actually looking for a black doctor. The magazine gave me a great starting point for my research, and access to black doctors about whom we don't normally hear.

Dear Editor:
I would like your calendar of events to offer earlier notice about networking opportunities and business seminars. There were a lot of events that I would have liked to attend in the last issue, but the information came too late. I also would like more information about events in the Washington, D.C., area that may also include jazz and entertainment opportunities. I believe that events geared toward the arts give people a more relaxed and friendlier atmosphere in which to network.

You read our mind. We had already decided to adjust our calendar in favor of later events, beginning with last month's issue of the magazine, and to increase the number of events listed. Please note, however, that the calendar also serves to apprise readers of the existence of certain organizations and the types of events they sponsor. A reader who misses an event may still contact the sponsoring group to see other events of interest that it may have scheduled, but which would not necessarily appear in TNJ.

Thank you so much for the article by Bevolyn Williams-Harold about Frank Fraley (Dec./Jan. 2003). It is well written, and the information is valuable. I am a firm believer in mentoring others. I helped establish the mentoring program for the Southern Arizona Women's Business Center, and I have sat on many professional boards, including that of the National Association for Women Business Owners (NAWBO), one of the oldest professional women's organizations in the country, with chapters in 85 cities. There is certain knowledge and information that even the best schools in the world cannot teach, but which can come only from experience and mentoring. So, thanks again for an excellent article.
