Technology entrepreneur Angela A. Brown majored in business at Howard University and obtained an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. After completing an internship with IBM, she went into marketing and sales. “I wanted to apply technology with strategy to solve business problems,” explains the president and CEO of Victory Global Solutions Inc., a systems engineering, IT and consulting firm serving commercial and government clients. Victory’s signature methodology is designed to reveal the “moments of truth” in consulting where you find the real key to unlock and unleash transformation.
Victory Global is blazing a trail as one of the highest-performing small businesses in its niche for more than 15 years, and last year began upgrading the U.S. Air Force’s cybersecurity infrastructure. “My mentors were committed to cultivating my ability to lead a company, directly impacting technology in support of the U.S. Department of Defense’s American Warfighter Initiatives,” Brown asserts. “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, but that we are powerful beyond measure,” she states, quoting author Marianne Williamson.
From healing missions and ministry in the U.S. and Brazil to mentoring and coaching entrepreneurs through her initiative, iEntrepreneurTHRIVE, Brown enjoys serving others. Currently, she’s designing a program on running a business during times of personal crisis in suddenly becoming a caregiver of a loved one. She explains, “While running my business, I was a caregiver of my mother, A. Elizabeth Thomas-Brown, for six years until her death, which activated my calling in ministering comfort and teaching coping skills to the emotionally brokenhearted and hurting. In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., ‘The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.’ The experience taught me how to face adversity and persevere.”
