President, Elohim Cleaning Contractors Inc. Bristol, Pa., Age: 27

In the Park Hill section of Staten Island, N.Y., the child, Sirena Charise Moore, was downright bossy. “I always wanted to have my own business because I wanted to be the boss,” says Moore, now 27 and president of Elohim Cleaning Contractors Inc., a construction cleaning company she started with her father in 2002. Based in Bristol, Pa., Elohim had 83 employees in 2008 and a growing roster of public- and private sector clients.

Moore had the audacity to aspire to greatness even after she bore twin girls at 17. “I believe our steps are ordered by the Lord and I refused to become another statistic,” says Moore. A child of ministers, Moore is guided by her Christian faith, including in decisions pertaining to Elohim. “From the beginning, we only bought what we could afford and had the cash to pay for,” she says. “We operate debt-free and have no loans or lines of credit.” As a result, Elohim’s revenues have grown from $389,000 in 2005 to $2 million last year. Moore’s goal is to reach $4.4 million by the end of 2009 and $10 million within the next five years.

The company’s rapid growth forced Moore to delay her pursuit of a college degree. Last year, she launched SirenaSpeaks.com to market her line of motivational products designed to inspire other young entrepreneurs. “Whether it’s the gift of gab, charm, or both — God has given me the gift of being unforgettable,” she says.

Quote: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord, not for man." (Colossians 3:23)
