President & CEO, The Dixon Group Inc., Washington, D.C., Age: 38

Ronald D. Dixon is president and chief executive officer of The Dixon Group Inc., a consulting firm that provides management support for corporate, celebrity and federal government events. Dixon, a certified meeting professional, is also the founder and chief information officer of B-DiGi, a new-media-technology firm. He previously was vice president of meetings and special events at Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America.

Dixon’s reputation for excellence has earned him great respect in the professional meetings industry. “Every customer counts, no matter how large or small. It’s the small things that make the biggest difference,” he says. He plans now to implement “Phase II” of The Dixon Group by developing a software platform for various industries in order to diversify his client portfolio.

Dixon believes his most notable accomplishments are growing the business and   becoming a prominent player within his industry, despite his humble origins. Following the example of the entertainment industry icons that inspire him, such as Russell Simmons, P. Diddy and Jay-Z, he refuses to be limited to a single area of achievement or to have his dreams thwarted by rejection. “The word ‘no’ fuels my motivation to move forward in life and achieve even more,” he says.

He is passionate about being a living example of progress and a positive role model to minority youth. He strives to help such youth achieve their dreams by partnering with youth organizations, teaching computer classes and donating equipment to centers in need.
