Keisha-Ann G. Gray, Esq
Senior Counsel Proskauer Rose L.L.P. New York City, Age: 35
Keisha-Ann G. Gray is senior counsel at Proskauer Rose L.L.P., a prestigious New York law firm. She is the youngest senior counsel in the New York office’s Labor & Employment Department and one of the few Black lawyers specializing in management-side defense at a major New York firm. Gray earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her juris doctorate from New York University School of Law.
Early in her career, she moved to Puerto Rico and served as a law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico. Upon returning to the mainland, she joined the U.S. Department of Justice and served as an assistant United States attorney in the Eastern District of New York, quickly making a name for herself as a premier trial lawyer.
When facing major challenges, Gray finds inspiration in L.B. Cowman’s words: “Spread your sail toward the storm and trust in Him who rules the raging seas”; and in her mother, Georgia Rattray-Gray, a criminal defense attorney; grandmother, Grace V. Cato, a retired nurse; and her professional mentor, Kevan Cleary.
Gray is the Legal Clinic columnist for Human Resource Executive Online magazine and is
on the board of Practicing Attorneys for Law Students. She supports charitable organizations such as the American Friends of Jamaica, and dedicates much of her personal time to mentoring junior lawyers. She also appears as a guest commentator on The Strategy Room Online at FOXNews.com.
