    Founder and CEO
    C. Moore Media International Public
    Relations
    New York City
    Age: 37

In 1999, Claudine Moore left the security of job, close friends and family in her native Britain and traveled to the United States with just “$800, a suitcase full of shoes and a pocket full of dreams.” She explains, “From a young age I was taught that anything I wanted to do I could do it, regardless of gender, race, class or anything else. This gave me the confidence to set myself high goals, knowing I could achieve them.”

Ten years later, she established C. Moore Media, International Public Relations and assumed the role of CEO, leveraging the extensive marketing, media relations, corporate communications and business development skills she had acquired in senior positions at Hill & Knowlton, where she was the first Black person to head a region in the company’s history, and at G2, iCrossing and McCann-Erickson. The success of her  publicity campaigns for top-notch clients, including creative-design agency YARD, Equinox Health Club, The CMO Club and Sampo Corp., earned her a spot on The U.K. 2010 PowerList of “Britain’s Top 100 Most Influential Black People,” which is endorsed by the country’s prime minister.

Educated in Britain, Moore holds a bachelor’s degree in social sciences from South Bank University, a post-graduate diploma in psychotherapy and counseling from Regents College and a master’s in psychotherapy and counseling from Durham University. She plans to return to psychotherapy “later in life.” Her dream is to travel across Africa for business, adventure and charitable work for and with children. She enjoys mentoring young people and speaks at high schools back in Britain. Having experienced a setback in high school, she advises:  “The race is never for the swift. You may not reach your goals the first time, but you should never give up. Failing does not mean the end of your dreams.”
