Evan S. Frazier

In 2008, Evan Frazier published his first book,  Most Likely to Succeed:  The Frazier Formula for Success (IP Publishing Group). “In life, I believe success equals your vision, a plan and the right attitude (S=VPAr). It’s the very formula that I wrote my book about. I believe it possesses the core components for how you can position yourself to be most likely to succeed,” he says.

Frazier is senior vice president of community affairs at Highmark Inc, Pennsylvania’s largest health-care insurance provider. Prior to joining Highmark, he was the president and CEO at Hill House Association, one of Greater Pittsburgh’s most important community service agencies targeting Hill District residents and diverse regional constituents. While there, he launched The Hill House Economic Development Corporation through which he implemented key neighborhood revitalization projects. But he is particularly proud of co-founding the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality, the nation’s leading student-run organization for minorities in the industry, with 75 chapters throughout the United States. He has watched its membership grow to more than 1,500. “I had a vision that inspired a shared vision for NSMH during my freshman year in college. I wanted to create a national network,” says Frazier.

A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College and Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, Frazier spent a year as a Luce Scholar working at Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts in Singapore and Hong Kong, and taught international business and marketing for several years at Point Park College in Pittsburgh as a McGinnis Distinguished Lecturer. Frazier is a trustee of Carnegie Mellon University and Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, and a board member for Carnegie Science Center, Hill House Economic Development Corporation, Phipps Conservatory and Power of 32.
